News55 killed, 35 injured in flood: NDMA

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As many as 55 persons died, 35 injured and six were missing due heavy rain in different parts of the country, said National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Friday.

According to latest NDMA figures, 29 houses were fully damaged while 109 houses were partially damaged.

In Ursoon village, Tehsil Drosh district Chitral, out of missing 29 persons, 23 were recovered while 6 are still missing.

The flood had also damaged two schools. NDMA had distributed 900 tents, 43 tons of food items, 1,650 blankets, 600 plastic mates and 100 kitchen sets among the flood affectees.

NDMA was in touch with Provincial Disaster Management Authority and District Administration regarding relief activities, an NDMA statement said.
