Irfan Mehsood - In what appears to be a remarkable achievement for Pakistan, as Irfan Mehsood, martial arts player from South Waziristan, brought laurel to the Country by registering his 31st Guinness World Record with the latest attempt of most push-ups in one minute. Muhammad Irfan Mehsood, who hails from long-deprived Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP)’s district South Waziristan, made the record by doing 60 push-ups in one minute with one leg raised while carrying a 40-lb pack. Mehsood achieved this milestone on April 11 in Dera Ismail Khan despite the lack of all sorts of required facilities. He broke the previous record of 53 push-ups that was made by an American martial arts player. The record-holder was informed by the management of Guinness World Records via an email on April 11, 2020. Irfan is a serial record-breaker and holds other records similar to this one such as most push-up one leg raised, carrying 80 ib pack in one minute, and most two-finger push-ups two arms in one minute carrying a 100-ib pack. The district of South Waziristan has been deprived of all basic facilities especially of sports-related facilities. The people of the country could bring more laurels to the country if they are provided the much-needed facilities by the government. The trouble-hit area has great talent; however, due to the government’s negligence, the huge talents have been wasted. Irfan Mehsood did the wonders with his self-dedication and love for his game and if he was supported and back by the government, he could break more records and make more achievements in the time to come.
