Islamabad, Pakistan: The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Islamabad celebrated its 28th Independence Day here on Wednesday in a local hotel, reports DND News Agency.

The reception (event) was attended by a large number of civil and military officials, diplomats, politicians, parliamentarians and journalists.

An impressive gathering was invited by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan in Pakistan Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Pakistan His Excellency Atadjan Movlamov.

Since Independence, Turkmenistan and Pakistan enjoy excellent bilateral relations and both countries are also engage in Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) natural gas pipeline project.

Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Chairman of the Board of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited (TPCL) Mr. Muhammetmyrat Amanov met the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Muhammetmyrat Amanov apprised the foreign minister about the progress in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) natural gas pipeline project. Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov was also present in the meeting.
