RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Two more Pakistani civilians embraced Shahadat while eight villagers were injured on Wednesday in Chaprar Sector on the Working Boundary due to Indian unprovoked firing, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement issued in Rawalpindi, the ISPR said that befitting response was given by Pakistan Rangers to Indian unprovoked firing.

The ISPR said that another civilian Sikander from Sona vally who was injured at Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday (Yesterday) succumbed to his injuries at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Kharian today.

Meanwhile, the Director General (South Asia & South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner at Foreign Office in Islamabad and lodged a strong protest against the unprovoked ceasefire violations on October 25-26.

The unprovoked firing by Indian forces at the Working Boundary in Chaprar and Harpal sectors and on the LoC in Bhimber sector resulted in martyrdom of two civilians and injury to nine civilians.

It was conveyed to the Indian side that it should investigate the incidents and share the findings with Pakistan, and instruct its troops to respect the ceasefire in letter and spirit.

The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was also conveyed that Indian troops should refrain from intentionally targeting the villages and maintain peace on the Working Boundary and the LoC.

“Since 21 October 4 civilians have embraced Shahadat while 21 are injured at Working Boundary,” the ISPR said earlier in the day.
