Monitoring Desk: The 18th Meeting of Council of Heads of States of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO Summit 2018) which will take place on June 6 will discuss collective security measures to fight terrorism in the region.
According to available information, Chinese President Xi Jinping wishes to form a comprehensive and strategic collaboration among SCO member states within the framework already discussed during the 13th meeting of SCO Security Council Secretaries which recently held in Beijing.
Russian media suggests that President Xi Jinping will discuss issue of regional security during his separate meetings with heads of states of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
It is pertinent to mention that the 18th Meeting of Council of Heads of States of the SCO summit will include separate meetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang said Monday in Beijing that meetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani are confirmed with President Xi Jinping.
Separate meetings of President Xi Jinping with Presidents of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, India and Pakistan are also on agenda but yet to be fixed with schedule.
