Nawaz Sharif assures fullest support to armed forces in fight against terror

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has assured his fullest support to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, saying that the entire nation is standing behind its armed forces as they are engaged in the fight against terrorism.

The assurance was given when the COAS called on the prime minister in Islamabad on Tuesday to discuss internal and external security situation of the country.

The two leaders also held a discussion on the progress of the military operation Zarb-e-Azb which has just completed its one year.

The prime minister lauded the gains of operation Zarb-e-Azb in the volatile tribal region and said that the nation is proud of its valiant armed forces and highly values the sacrifices rendered by our officers and men in fight against terrorism.

It was decided during the meeting that operation against criminals and terrorists will continue unhindered across the country to optimally utilize the environment created due to phenomenal successes of Zarb-e-Azb.

They also reiterated that Zarb-e-Azb would be taken to its logical conclusion regardless of the cost, and terrorists and criminals would be hunted down indiscriminately.
