ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif says tension has escalated between India and Pakistan due to recent incidents and violation of line of control (LoC).

Presiding over an important meeting at the foreign office in Islamabad today‚ he said the recent incidents are deplorable.

The Prime minister said he looks forward to meeting with the Indian counterpart during the United Nations General Assembly session.

He said talks will be held on promotion of bilateral relations and restoration of trust.

The meeting discussed the situation arising out of recent tension at the Line of Control besides other external challenges faced by the country.
