Nawaz calls for enhancing trade ties between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday called for enhancing bilateral trade relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

In a meeting with the outgoing Saudi ambassador Dr Abdulaziz-Al-Ghadeer in Islamabad on Thursday, the prime minister said that the two countries have always stood by each other in testing times and the people of Pakistan deeply value relations with the kingdom.

The prime minister said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy close and fraternal relations marked by common perceptions on all issues of mutual interest at regional and international level.

Sharif said that 1.5 million strong Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia is a human bridge between the two brotherly countries. He said that Pakistani diaspora in Saudi Arabia have been playing an important role in the development and prosperity of both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The Pakistani primer appreciated efforts of Dr Abdulaziz-Al-Ghadeer for further strengthening bonds between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the government has decided to confer Nishan-i-Quaid-i-Azam on the Saudi envoy. The prime minister has sent an advice in this regard to President Mamnoon Hussain for his approval.
