LAHORE, Pakistan: The Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has urged the Punjab police to become people-friendly.
In his address at the passing out parade of Women Police Officers in Lahore on Wednesday morning, the Chief Minister said that women have played an important role in improving image of police among the people.
Usman said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Punjab has provided opportunities for women in all departments. He said that the PTI government has for the first time appointed women as District Police Officers (DPOs).
Earlier, the Punjab Chief Minister inspected the guard of honor and the passing out parade of 424 women police officers out of which 315 will be deputed in different districts while the rest will be deputed on highways.

Lawmakers also met Usman Buzdar in Lahore
Separately, members of the National and Punjab Assembly from various districts met the Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar in Lahore today.
While talking to them, Usman Buzdar said that PTI inherited the tattered economy from the previous government. He said that the previous government looted the national exchequer.
The Chief Minister said that the public had to suffer a lot due to negative policies of the past government. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is taking tough decisions to bring the economy on track, adding that his decisions would lay the foundation of a stable and prosper Pakistan.
