ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Certificate Distribution Ceremony of the “Training of Trainer” (Master trainer) for the promotion of Fish Cage Culture was organized on Thursday at Rawal Town Fish Hatchery in Islamabad by the Fisheries Development Board (FDB).
The FDB under the Ministry of National Food Security and Research held a 10 days “Training of Trainer” program for 30 people under the Cage Culture Cluster Development Project funded by the Prime Minister National Agriculture Emergency Program from October 11 to 20, 2021 in Islamabad. Dr. Safia Mushtaq was the Project Manager.
The training participants were the Fisheries Officers from all over Pakistan including Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Gilgit Baltistan.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Fisheries Development Board Muhammad Junaid Wattoo was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony, and he briefed about the aims and objectives of the training program.
Muhammad Junaid Wattoo told the participants that it was the second program to develop Master Trainers who will impart training to 1,200 fish farmers, entrepreneurs, hatchery operators, investors of aquaculture, and general workers to develop the labor force for aquaculture enterprises.
The training covered an orientation session, course standardization, introduction to modern delivery methods, and demonstration at farms to boost the blue economy in the Country.
While Noor Ellahi and Dr. Abdul Rab served as “Super Trainers” and delivered their lectures during the training and orientation sessions.
All participants from Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan actively participated in the program and found it as a good platform for the learning and exchange of ideas.
While the Chief Finance Officer FDB Ms. Madeeha Achakzai, Project Managers Maratab Ali Awan & Tanveer Zaman, Assistant Directors Dr. Naveed Ahmed Abro & Syed Adeel Hassan, and Admin and Accounts Officer of the Cage Culture Cluster Development Project Saad Ishtiaq were present at the event.
In the end, the CEO FDB Muhammad Junaid Wattoo distributed the certificates amongst the participants and pay thanks to them for participation.
