TANK, Pakistan: The third phase of the repatriation of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of South Waziristan Agency will begin from Wednesday (July 20), the Assistant Political Officer Muhammad Shoaib Khan said on Tuesday.

While talking to the media in Tank, the assistant political officer said that FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) will continue repatriation process of IDPs to their native areas till October 11, 2016.

The IDPs belonging to 67 villages would return to their homes during the said period.

To a question, he said that over 22,000 families were registered while the number of unregistered IDPs was more than the registered figure of IDPs.

Muhammad Shoaib said that before Ramazan-ul-Mubarak 2016, the peoples of 39 villages went back to their home towns.

The government provides Rs 25,000 cash and Rs 10,000 for transportation charges and food package to each family, according to the political administration.

He said that the registration and all necessary documentation of the IDPs had already been completed.
