ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Center for Global & Strategic Studies (CGSS) under its initiative ‘The Platform’ organized a Webinar on “The need for trainings, awareness and leadership in our nation, especially in youth” in Islamabad on Monday in collaboration with Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Pakistan.

The aim of the Webinar was to highlight the significance and awareness of trainings and leadership qualities of the youth and nation-building.

In his remarks at the Webinar, the Federal Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs His Excellency Ali Muhammad Khan stated that the potential of leaders can be seen in crisis. Leaders have to struggle and sacrifice.

Ali Muhammad Khan said that we have great examples of Islamic leaders and scholars. He said that the need is to build creative thinking and our youth must realize the importance of history.

The Senior Member Advisory Board CGSS & former Federal Minister of Defense Lt General (retd) Naeem Khalid Lodhi discussed the steps that can be taken at the grass-root level for ensuring the inclusion of youth in nation building. Lt General (retd) Naeem Khalid Lodhi stated that there is a need to go back to the concepts of unity, faith and discipline. A leader has to follow multiple traits. The Chairman Punjab Youth Council Mian Hamza Karamat Dogar discussed the aims, future plans, and projects of Punjab Youth Council for capacity building of youth. Mian Hamza Karamat Dogar also mentioned the statistics and project on which the Punjab youth council is working efficiently and stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan is actively inspecting these projects. The Chairperson at the IR Department in University of Peshawar Dr. Minhas Majeed Marwat stressed on the role of educational institutions specially teachers in inculcating leadership qualities in youth. She further mentioned the need of enhancing communication skills in students. The Chief Operating Officer of The Platform by CGSS Tariq Khattak gave an informative presentation about The Platform by CGSS. He introduced the dynamic vision and mission as well as what The Platform aims to achieve through this initiative. Tariq Khattak stated that the main objective of the venture is to bring a positive change in our society through Youth development, dedicated future leaders, and providing skill development. The President Global Think Tank Network (GTTN) Amer Hashmi highlighted the role of think tanks in involving the youth in decision & policy-making sphere during the webinar on, "The Need for Training, Awareness, & Leadership in our nation Especially in Youth". The Lead Trainer & Consultant Shahid Mir discussed how trainings and workshops can lead individuals towards becoming a successful entrepreneurs during the webinar organized by THE PLATFORM by CGSS. The Webinar was moderated by the PR and Communication Executive CGSS Palwasha Nawaz and was attended by approximately 60 participants.

Punjab Highway Patrol releases annual performance report for 2024 Lahore, Pakistan: Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) has released annual performance report for 2024 that shows promising working under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr Usman Anwar. According to details, in the year 2024, PHP checked 31.4 million people on the highways across Punjab through e-Police Post App and arrested 6,537 proclaimed offenders/judicial fugitives. Punjab Highway Patrol checked 18.8 million vehicles with the help of modern technology and also recovered 3,350 stolen vehicles/motorcycles. Legal action was taken against 869,000 overloaded vehicles for axle load violation. Legal action was taken against more than 12,000 vehicles across Punjab for illegal use of gas cylinders. In view of the convenience of the citizens, last year, PHP issued 148,000 driving licenses - 678 missing children were reunited with their parents. 5,005 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed and traffic flow was improved. More than 112,000 passengers facing difficulties on the roads across Punjab were provided with various types of assistance and guidance. 119,000 citizens were provided with various types of assistance and guidance at Police Khidmat Markazes. 1,093 cases were registered for the use of illegal weapons. 20,925 liters of alcohol, 400 kilograms of hashish, 53 kilograms of opium and 5.5 kilograms of heroin were recovered from drug peddlers. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar congratulated PHP for its excellent performance - To ensure traffic flow, service and safety of citizens, duties should be performed with full effort and sincerity - IG Punjab's instructions
