ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) would send 100,000 skilled manpower to Middle East in next three years in phases, Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said.

Addressing a meeting held to review the progress of placement cell, he said TEVTA has provided employment opportunities to 14,000 trained youth in renowned national and multi-national organizations across Punjab according to a press release issued here on Monday.

Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that the TEVTA graduates have been given employment in various companies/organizatons including Atlas Honda Pvt. Ltd, Attock Refinery, Innovative Engineering, Orient Electronics, Al-Hadeed Engineering, Nespak, Fico Hi Tech, Coca Cola, Crescent Bahuman, Golden Pumps, Royal Fans and Ravi Auto beside others.

A total 20 Placement Officers have already been appointed in each TEVTA district in this regard. Placement Officers have been directed to make frequent visits of industries of their areas to categorize the availability of jobs.

A placement cell has also been established in TEVTA Secretariat to ensure transparency and quality. A one window operation for obtaining passport, medical check-up, deposit of protector fee, NADRA card and travelling arrangements is being managed in the placement cell, the press release mentioned.

The 3rd phase of short courses have successfully been started with the consultation of relevant industry across the province of the Punjab. Youth is being provided training as per requirement of local employers.

The Chairperson also emphasized on the need of further strong liaison with industry and more facilitation for local employers, the release concluded.
