PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Tenders submitted by different domestic and foreign companies for the construction of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project, Peshawar were opened in Peshawar on Thursday.
Tenders were opened in the presence of the Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister for Transport and Mass Transit Malik Shah Muhammad Wazir and media persons.
Besides, the Secretary Transport Department Daud Khan, the representatives of Planning & Development Department, Communication & Works Department, Finance Department, Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) were also participated.
Speaking on the occasion, the Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Malik Shah Muhammad Wazir said that BRT is the largest mega project of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on which construct work will start during the current month and will be completed in record short period of six months.
Malik Shah Muhammad Wazir said that the completion of big project in such short period is a big challenge for the provincial government.
However, the Special Assistant said that their morale is high and determined to complete the project within the stipulated time period to open it for the people of the province.
