KARACHI, Pakistan: Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan has directed that a foolproof security for Muharram be ensured at every cost.

A Governor House statement here on Tuesday said that Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan contacted the Director General of Pakistan Rangers Sindh, Major General Bilal Akbar, Chief Secretary Siddiq Memon, IGP Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, Additional IG Karachi, Mushtaq Mahar, Deputy Mayor Karachi Arshad Vohra, and managements of mourning processions and majalis and apprised himself regarding the security as well steps for cleanliness etc.

The Governor stressed that foolproof security arrangements be made for the Muharram.

He further stated that monitoring and surveillance of the routes of the mourning processions be ensured and the CCTV cameras be kept active.

Dr Ishrat ul Ebad Khan directed that there should be full monitoring of the mourning processions from beginning to conclusion.

He also instructed the Deputy Mayor Karachi Arshad Vohra to make sure that the required arrangements for cleanliness have been undertaken.

The Governor also asked the Sindh Chief Secretary to remain in contact with the Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners and that foolproof security be ensured throughout the province of Sindh.

He was of the view that maintenance of law and order was a collective responsibility of all of us and asked the people to fully cooperate with the personnel of law enforcement agencies (LEAs) for maintaining the security and law and order.
