KARACHI, Pakistan: The Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the blast which occurred in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area on Wednesday morning, and sought a detailed report from the Commissioner Karachi.

In the morning, three people lost their lives and 15 further suffered injuries when a blast went off in a four-storey building near Maskan Chowrangi in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi.

However, according to the SHO of Mobina Town Police Station, it seems to be a cylinder blast. Meanwhile, the bomb disposal squad had arrived at the scene to ascertain the nature of the explosion. Expressing grief over casualties and taking notice of the blast, Murad Ali Shah directed the Karachi Commissioner to submit a detailed report in this regard. The Sindh Chief Minister also directed the Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani to reach the blast site. The Chief Minister also directed to the Karachi administrator to expedite the relief work. Issuing directives to evacuate the people stranded in the collapsed building, Murad Ali Shah also directed authorities to ensure medical treatment for those injured in the incident. Meanwhile, the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi in a Tweet wrote “Prayers & sympathies go out to the victims of the blast near Maskan Chowrangi. Urge the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough investigation of this tragedy.”

The nature of the blast hasn’t yet been ascertained.

However, according to the SHO of Mobina Town Police Station, it seems to be a cylinder blast.
