SHEIKHUPURA, Pakistan: The Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday inaugurated the fully Operational Combined Cycle of 1180 MW Bhikki Power Plant in Sheikhupura, and also visited its Control Room.

“It’s a great moment today as Bhikki Power Plant is now fully operational and in a record time,” Shahbaz Sharif said while addressing at the inauguration of fully operational plant.Shahbaz Sharif inaugurates fully functional 1180 Bhikki Power Plant

Shahbaz Sharif said that projects including Bhikki Power plant and Haveli Bahadur Shah were initiated in 2016, and today Bhikki has been completed whereas Bahadur Shah Plant is almost complete.

The Chief Minister said that Haveli Bahadur Shah, Bhikki power plant and Balloki have added 3600 MW in the national grid

“We have used our own resources in Punjab to produce electricity. This electricity is now connected to the national grid,” he said. “I congratulate everyone who worked tirelessly day and night on building Bhikki Power Plant”.

The Punjab Chief Minister said that Haveli Bahadur Shah Plant, Balloki Plant and Bhikki, all three power plants are operational.

“I believe all those involved in making these projects successful deserve applause,” the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister said that 10,000 MW electricity has been added to the national grid under Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) tenure. He said that after working tirelessly, there is no load shedding during Ramazan this year.

On the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow, Commander of Ninth Air Force (US Air Forces Central Command — AFCENT), Lieutenant General Derek France called on Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force. The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
