ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) is organizing a special lecture on water challenges and opportunities in Pakistan on Tuesday.

Associate Research Professor, University of Utah, USA Patrick Shea will deliver the lecture and Tariq Banuri, University of Utah, USA will be the moderator.

According to the United Nation, Pakistan’s population will rise to 263 million by 2050. It is still a serious challenge that how Pakistan will be able to manage water for agriculture, industry and human consumption in the coming years.

The Himalayan glacier, source of freshwater for the Indus River is melting by 303 feet per year due to global warming adding to water challenges for Pakistan.
