LAHORE, Pakistan: Punjab Police uniform was replaced with the new olive green colour uniforms on Monday as the traditional black and khaki colour had been changed after 59 years.
Police sources said that implementation of wearing of the new uniform has initially started from the provincial capital Lahore and 42,000 uniform kits had been provided to the Punjab policemen.
The process would complete in the province by October.
After Lahore, Rawalpindi cops would get uniforms on April 30, Faisalabad May 30, Multan June 30, Sheikhupura July 30, Gujranwala August 30, Sargodha and Bahawalpur Sept 30 and Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan on October 30.
The Lahore police and central police would wear olive green uniforms and the field staff would be allowed to wear T-shirts and P-caps in summers.
