LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the provincial government has decided in principle to lift the ban on leasing of Coal Mines in the province.

Talking to a delegation of the All Pakistan Mines and Minerals Association which led by its President Mir Bahrose Regi met him in Lahore on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that the Mines Sector has an immense potential and we need to utilize the hidden resources for the development and prosperity of the Country.

The Chief Minister apprised the delegation about the provincial government’s decision of lifting the ban on leasing of Coal Mines to promote economic activities in the province.

Usman Buzdar told that the Punjab Cabinet has also given in principle approval to lift the ban on renewal of mine leases.

It was further apprised that along with Zigzag Technology, alternative options will also be considered for brick kilns.

The All Pakistan Mines and Minerals Association thanked the Punjab Chief Minister for taking immediate steps to resolve the issues.
