LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government has decided to convert all brick kilns of 11 provincial districts on Zigzag Technology within next three months, the Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal said.

It will help reduce the smog in Central Punjab and economic activity of the Brick Sector won’t be stopped in winters.

Under the scheme, each brick kiln will be provided an interest-free loan worth Rs 2,000,000 for the conversion to the latest technology in next three months. He said that the loan will be returned in two years. Mian Aslam Iqbal said that those brick kilns already running on Zigzag Technology will also be facilitated. In the first phase, brick kilns of 11 districts of Punjab including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Multan, Sheikhupura, Okara, Jhelum, Sahiwal and Kasur will be converted on Zigzag Technology.

Under the scheme, each brick kiln will be provided an interest-free loan worth Rs 2,000,000 for the conversion to the latest technology in the next three months. He said that the loan will be returned in two years.

Mian Aslam Iqbal said that those brick kilns already running on Zigzag Technology will also be facilitated.
