Nullah Lai Expressway - The government has devised two plans to construct Nullah Lai Expressway worth Rs 60 billion in Rawalpindi under the Public Private Partnership (PPP). Sources said that the Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has completed the initial work on the Nullah Lai Expressway project, and he will soon brief Prime Minister Imran Khan about the plan chalked out to execute the project. They said that the prime minister will accord his final approval to one plan. Sources said that as per the first plan, 80 kanal land near Liaquat Bagh will commercially be sold and markets be built there under the Public Private Partnership. Under the first plan, the amount generated from markets and commercial plazas will be utilized to construct the Lai Expressway while under the second plan, it has been suggested to sale 500 kanal land adjacent to Sawaan Adda in Rawalpindi on commercial basis. The second plan suggests to tender the sale of 500 kanal land through rules and regulations, and the tender-winner Company will construct the Lai Expressway in return of 500 kanal land at Sawaan Adda. It has also been suggested to build small markets on the edge of Nullah Lai. The project will be executed in collaboration with the Punjab government, and will turn Rawalpindi into a big commercial hub.

RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The government has devised two plans to construct Nullah Lai Expressway worth Rs 60 billion in Rawalpindi under the Public Private Partnership (PPP).

Sources said that the Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has completed the initial work on the Nullah Lai Expressway project, and he will soon brief Prime Minister Imran Khan about the plan chalked out to execute the project.
