RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Pakistan on Monday successfully conducted the Training Launch of Ghauri Missile System, aimed at testing the operational and technical readiness of Army Strategic Forces Command.
The launch was conducted by the Army Strategic Forces Command, said a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Ghauri Ballistic Missile can carry both conventional and nuclear warheads up to a distance of 1300 kilometers.

The launch was witnessed by the Commander Army Strategic Forces Command Lieutenant General Mian Muhammad Hilal Hussain, the Chairman National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM) Dr Nabeel Hayat Malik, the Chairman Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) Tahir Ikram, senior officers from the strategic forces, scientists and engineers of strategic organizations.
The Commander Army Strategic Forces Command appreciated the standard of training and operational preparedness of Army Strategic Forces.
The launch consolidates Pakistan’s nuclear capability which is aimed at peace and stability through a credible deterrence regime.
The President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan have conveyed their appreciation on successful launch of the missile system.
The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat and the Services Chiefs have also congratulated the Strategic Forces, Scientists and Engineers on the accomplishment.
