KARACHI, Pakistan: The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat on Saturday said Pakistan was fully aware of the designs of hostile agencies especially Indian Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) against it.     

In his address at the passing out parade of cadets at Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi, the CJCSC said the Indian intelligence agency was operating from Afghanistan to stoke unrest and instability in Pakistan, and sabotage the multi-billion dollars China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

The CJCSC reiterated the commitment to tackle with these threats through synergetic efforts, and categorically said Pakistan was capable to beat back the enemies’ designs.

The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee said Pakistan was vital to regional solutions, and attempts to coerce and isolate it had failed in the past and would also meet the same fate in future.

Zubair Hayat said Pakistan sought peaceful coexistence with all its neighbors, adding peace and Stability in Afghanistan was fundamental to the peace in Pakistan.

Talking about anti-terror operations, the CJCSC said Pakistan was determined to wipe out the curse of terrorism.

Referring to the role of Pakistan Navy, General Zubair said the nation was proud of its sea defenders which had played pivotal role in the defense of the Country, anti-terror and anti-piracy operations.

The CJCSC pointed out that modern navy was important to address the challenges of maritime security which had assumed added significance due to the CPEC.

Zubair Hayat said the government was cognizant of the requirements of Pakistan Navy and providing it the resources to meet its current and future needs.

In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
