RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: One Pakistan army soldier embraced martyrdom (Shahadat) when the Indian army troops violated the ceasefire in Baroh and Chirikot Sectors along the Line of Control (LoC), the Inter Services Public Relations (IPSR) said on Thursday.

The ISPR said that Sepoy Naimat Wali was martyred while two women belonging to serian village also sustained injuries in the Indian cross border firing.

In response, Pakistan army troops targeted the Indian army posts, and caused substantial damage to them.

The ISPR said that there are reports of casualties to the Indian troops.

Recently, the Indian forces have escalated the ceasefire violations along the LoC, resulting in deaths of many civilians including women in addition to inflicting injuries to further people as well.

Among them, the latest incident of unprovoked firing by Indian army which caused civilian casualties occurred on October 6-7 in Chirikot Sector, in which 69-year-old lady Nazira Begum from Kakuta village was martyred.

In the indiscriminate firing by Indian troops, three civilians of the same village including 43-year-old Manzoor, 40-year-old Jamil and 46-year-old Musthaq were injured.
