ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan-China International Air Exercise “Shaheen-IX” culminated on Thursday at an Operational Air Base of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) with a resolve to jointly cope with shared security challenges.
The Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan was the Chief Guest while the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong was the Guest of Honour at the occasion.
Exchanging views at the culmination of Exercise Shahee-IX, the Chinese Envoy said that “International and the regional strategic situation is undergoing profound changes with growing complexity. This calls for collaboration of our two countries and armed forces in maintaining peace and stability and to cope with various challenges.”
The Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar said that the existing global security scenario coupled with the evolving dynamics of air warfare called for enhanced partnership between Pakistan and China as indeed the two armed forces.
The Air Chief added that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was a manifestation of our common objectives & destiny.
The Air Chief also expressed his gratitude to the Commander People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) General Ding Laihang for sending a large contingent to participate in the Exercise despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Exercise Shaheen IX witnessed the participation of modern fighter jets and support elements from the PAF and the Chinese PLAAF.
