ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The outgoing Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Monday visited Headquarters Directorate General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in Islamabad as part of farewell visits.

The Director General ISI Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar received the COAS on his arrival at the headquarters, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The COAS paid rich tributes to the sacrifices and successes of officers and men of ISI in fighting terrorism and strengthening defence of the motherland.

General Raheel Sharif will retire tomorrow (November 29) following the completion of his three-year tenure as the COAS. He will be replaced by General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

Earlier in the day, General Raheel Sharif separately met President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad.

Both the president and the prime minister praised General Raheel for his valuable services rendered as the Army Chief and extended their best wishes for his post retirement life and happiness for his family.
