ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Monday removed Superintendent of Police (SP) City Rizwan Gondal from his post for allegedly damaging reputation of police department.

The Minister took action on complaint of a citizen that SP Rizwan had caused rumpus in a lobby of a five-star hotel and also insulted hotel administration.

SP Rizwan arrested hotel manager on a petty matter and kept him under illegal custody.

He was found guilty during initial investigation and in view of this, the Minister has ordered a regular inquiry into the matter and directed the SP to report Establishment Division with immediate effect.

Nisar said SP Rizwan has damaged reputation of police and there is no space for such a person in the Department.

An official of Special Branch has also been suspended for not providing report about the incident.
