ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Inauguration Ceremony of National TIP Hotline for National Referral Mechanism and Integrated Management information System was held in collaboration with the International Labor Organization (ILO) in Islamabad on Thursday.

The Director General Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Mohsin Hassan Butt along with Ashraf Zubair Siddiqui, ADG Immigration were present in the ceremony with the UNODC Country Representative, the Deputy Australian High Commissioner, Director ILO, US Political Advisor, other dignitaries, senior officers of FIA and officers from the provinces across Pakistan.National TIP Hotline for National Referral Mechanism & Integrated Management information System Inaugurated

This is a critical initiative project in the history of Pakistan, which, with a single click, will send complaint against the traffickers to the concerned police station and trafficked victims will be referred to the concerned departments for welfare.

The Additional Director/Supervising and leading TIP Unit FIA Shireen Malik Sher was the focal person of this project who worked under the supervision of the Director Anti-Human Smuggling Directorate of FIA Israr Ahmed khan and completed the Project in a very short span of time.

The subject project was funded by Australian High Commission through the international Labor Organization.

While addressing the audience, the DG FIA Mohsin Hassan Butt said that this project of National TIP Hotline for National Referral Mechanism represents a pivotal moment in our fight against this Trafficking in Person crime.

While acknowledging the periodic reporting by the government of Pakistan on international obligations, this system represents an evolution—a stride towards a more coordinated, efficient, and harmonized approach to reporting across the country. It’s not just a system; it’s a catalyst for change, enhancing our capacity to address trafficking in persons comprehensively.

The Deputy Australian High Commissioner commended the efforts put forth by FIA and ILO to launch this application which will be revolutionary step towards warding off the menace of Human Trafficking in all its forms.

In his concluding remarks Mohsin Hassan Butt expressed his profound gratitude for UNODC, United nation office on drugs and crime for arranging this event and he added that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been a proud partner in a longstanding and fruitful collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). Together, we formulated the National Action Plan to combat Trafficking In Person and Smuggling of Migrants, setting a comprehensive agenda for our collective efforts.
