ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The nation is celebrating the 74th Independence Day on Friday with a renewed resolve to work with the spirit of Pakistan Movement to make the Country a true Islamic Welfare State.

The day dawned with 31-gun salutes in the Federal Capital and 21-gun salute in the Provincial Headquarters.

Prayers were offered for the security and progress of Pakistan and the well-being of the people.

It is a public holiday throughout the Country.

The main feature of the celebrations of 74th Independence Day of Pakistan is a National Flag Hoisting Ceremony being held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. President Dr. Arif Alvi will be the Chief Guest on the occasion. Similar Flag Hoisting Ceremonies are also being held at Provincial, Divisional and District Headquarters Level throughout the Country. Public and Private Buildings as well as Streets, Bazaars and Markets have been profusely illuminated. The national flags, buntings, portraits of founding fathers, posters and banners are also seen everywhere as part of the celebrations of Independence Day. Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan Navy released a special song 'Parcham Pakistan Ka' on the occasion of the Country’s 74th Independence Day, fully reflecting the desire of Pakistanis for their homeland.

The main feature of the celebrations of the 74th Independence Day of Pakistan was a National Flag Hoisting Ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad.

President Dr. Arif Alvi was the Chief Guest on the occasion.

Similar Flag Hoisting Ceremonies were also held at Provincial, Divisional and District Headquarters Level throughout the Country.

Public and Private Buildings as well as Streets, Bazaars and Markets have been profusely illuminated.

The national flags, buntings, portraits of founding fathers, posters, and banners are also seen everywhere as part of the celebrations of Independence Day.

Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan Navy released a special song ‘Parcham Pakistan Ka’ on the occasion of the Country’s 74th Independence Day, fully reflecting the desire of Pakistanis for their homeland.
