ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: With the end of four-day public holidays following Eid-ul-Azha Celebrations, all the government, semi-government and private offices including banks and financial institutions have reopened on Tuesday.

However, low attendance of staff was witnessed in most of the offices and institutions as a few people were yet to return from their native areas after Eid-ul-Azha vacation.

Sources said that attendance at the offices was thin as more than half of the officers and employees did not returned from their villages.

They said that according to officials, this situation would continue for one or two more days.

However, some people were seen rushing to their respective offices to dispose off their pending urgent works on the opening day today.

Likewise, thin attendance was also seen in government and private educational institutions today wherein the situation would likely to become normal as well in next a couple of days.

The federal government had announced four Eid-ul-Azha holidays from September 1 to September 4 while the first day of Eid fell on September 2 (Saturday).

Meanwhile, festive mood is prevailing at most of the offices.

Officials and staffs were seen exchanging Eid greetings and embracing and hugging each other.

The holiday-seekers, who went to their villages to celebrate the Eid with their relatives, have started to return to their working places.
