ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday rejected the incomplete report of Toshakhana gifts, and directed the federal government to submit the full report containing details about the gifts received before 2002 as well.

On Sunday, in compliance with the Lahore High Court’s directives, the federal government made public the 22-year record of Toshakhana gifts comprising 446 pages includes gifts received in Toshakhana from the year 2002 to 2023.

In the list, names of former Presidents, Prime Ministers, Federal Ministers, and government officers have been mentioned along with details of the gifts retained by them.

During the proceedings of the hearing on Monday, the LHC Justice Asim Hafeez rejected the move by the federal government to declassify the incomplete record of Toshakhana gifts.

Justice Asim Hafeez remarked that the record before 2002 should be presented in the Court in whatever form they are.

The Court directed the government’s layers to submit the entire Toshakhana record prior to 2002 today, and adjourned the hearing was adjourned till 11:30 am.
