PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra Wednesday approved the Annual Development Programme (ADP) for fiscal year 2016-17 for Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) with a total outlay of Rs 18.2 billion to expedite pace of development in the tribal areas.

A total of 997 development projects including 773 ongoing and 229 new were included for upcoming fiscal year, said Secretary Planning and Development Fata while briefing the governor about the salient features of ADP.

He said Rs 14.9 billion have been allocated for ongoing development projects and Rs 3.2 billion for new developmental projects.

The governor directed for early completion of the ongoing projects besides new projects and stressed to give priorities to such projects that could benefit tribal people in a true and real sense.

He directed the concerned administrative heads to regularly review developmental projects and ensure its timely completion by ensuring its quality, standard and transparency.

The governor directed restoration of hospitals, schools, health centres and others government buildings in the affected areas on priority basis.
