PESHAWWAR, Pakistan: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur on Monday presided over a meeting in Peshawar regarding the Sehat Card.
The meeting was attended by the Health Advisor Ehtesham Ali, Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam along with the relevant administrative secretaries, health department officials, and representatives from the State Life Insurance.
In the meeting, the Chief Minister gave his in-principle approval to the proposal of including life insurance for citizens under the Sehat Card Plus program. He directed the concerned authorities to prepare a formal plan and present it for approval as soon as possible.

The Chief Minister took notice of complaints regarding heart surgeries not being performed under the Sehat Card due to reduced rates at the Peshawar Institute of Cardiology (PIC). He instructed Sehat Card officials to ensure heart surgeries for patients under the Sehat Card.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will bear all the costs of heart surgeries, ensuring no financial burden on the patients. He emphasized that no patient should face any difficulties.
The KPK Chief Minister also said that the Sehat Card Plus program is close to Imran Khan’s heart and is a flagship project of the provincial government, and it will be further improved.
The provincial government is also working on including the treatment of more diseases under the Sehat Card, he added.
While making the Sehat Card comprehensive, he further said, transparency will also be ensured.
Ali Amin Gandapur also said that for the convenience of citizens, hospitals with a good reputation will also be included under the Sehat Card.
The Chief Minister said that the provincial government is prioritizing the payment of dues to State Life Insurance under the Sehat Card. He said that there should be no obstacle in providing free healthcare facilities to the public under the Sehat Card.
