NationalKhattak directs environment friendly industrialization approach in KPK

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak has directed for the environment friendly industrialization approach in the province adding the relevant departments should visit Lucky Cement Factory, Steel Mills in Malakand, brick kilns, crushing machines and check the pollution emitting out of them.

He was presiding over a meeting on industrialization in the province, utilization of natural gas for electricity generation and the pace of work on the identified sites and yet to be identified sites for the industrialization throughout the province.

Provincial Minister for Energy Muhammad Atif Khan, Administrative secretaries and other attended the meeting. The provincial government was planning for the industrial cities at Rashakai, Jalozai, Ghazi, Bannu, Buner, Swat in addition to the already industrial estates in the province.

Chief Minister directed that the provincial government would go strict on the industrial units which were unfriendly to the environment and that could become a source of spreading pollution.

Pervez Khattak asked about the industrial cities at M1, Hattar and Jalozai and the process of development there.  He said that KPK government was for maximum incentives to the investors for industrialization in the province.

The emerging scenario and the enthusiastic willingness brightened the future prospects of the province in terms of Rapid industrialization and the exploitation of raw material of the province, he added.

Pervez Khattak said this province had a lot of advantages but it did not receive the kind of attention it should have been given in the past.

The present government was going all out to focus on its advantages and make them the base for the development of the province, he added.

He said if the government did not give concession to attract and allure potential investors at the beginning, this province would continue to suffer with its untapped resources, he added.

After industrialization, Pervez Khattak said, his government would go an extra step to encourage investors to invest in innovative, power generation and productive sectors that will become the base for the future of the province.

Pervez Khattak said that this province was destined to be an industrialized federating unit in the backdrop of investor friendly policy perused by his government. He said “Industrialization means more to us”.

It would create job opportunities and bring overall prosperity to the province. It will widen the fiscal space of the province and the resources generated thus could be used for the public welfare and social sector services development in the province.

The Chief Minister directed to expedite the process of industrialization, removing the hurdles in this regard so that this province could emerge a financially viable federating unit standing on its own feet.
