KARACHI, Pakistan: Two leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) have announced to take legal action against Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) after not being allowed to board a Sukkur-bound plane.
Sources said that the JUI-F’s Interparty Chief Election Commissioner Maulana Atta-ul-Haq Darwaish and Assistant Election Commissioner Mufti Nasir Mahmood were traveling from Karachi to Sukkur for the JUI-F Sindh’s Interparty Elections.
However, the PIA flight 536 left both of them in Karachi instead of taking them to Sukkur.
“PIA officials told us that there was not enough capacity in the plane, and due to overloading, they couldn’t take us,” Maulana Atta-ul-Haq Darwaish said according to Public News.
“We had arrived at Karachi Airport on time but despite having confirmed tickets, we were not allowed to board the plane,” he added.
Maulana Atta-ul-Haq Darwaish accused the PIA of selling their tickets to standby passengers at double price in black.
The JUI-F’s Interparty Chief Election Commissioner also said that they will take legal action against PIA.
“We were told that the ticket amount would be refunded to us,” he said.
