NationalIslamabad police to be made smart force: IGP

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Inspector General of Police Tariq Masood Yasin on Thursday called for making Islamabad police as SMART Police Force which is Strict and Sensitive, Modern and Mobile, Alert and Accountable, Reliable and Responsive, Techno-savvy and Trained.

During his visit to various sections and police barracks at Police Line Headquarters, the IGP said that Islamabad police would be made SMART police and its entire system and record would be Information Technology based.

He said that people would be facilitated through the use of modern technology and more responsible police culture to be ensured through timely response or feedback to citizens on their complaints.

The IGP renewed his commitment to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and that his doors are open for the people who may visit him for redressing their issues.

He also directed police officials including Station House Officers (SHOs) to ensure their presence in offices and resolve public complaints.

The IGP also vowed to resolve the complaints of police employees and ensure steps for their welfare.

He also fixed Wednesday of each week to listen to the problems of police employees and assured to resolve their professional issues on immediate basis.
