BISPIHC directs FIA to probe irregularities in BISP

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday directed the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to probe alleged irregularities in Benazir Income Support Program (BISP).

Justice Noor ul Haq N. Qureshi of IHC heard the case against the alleged irregularities in distribution of assistance to deserving people in BISP.

The counsel for the BISP Masroor Shah Advocate appeared before the court.

He informed the bench that several deputation officers in BISP had been repatriated after the scam disclosed.

He argued that BISP was ensuring transparency in its affairs and supporting the deserving people in the country.

After hearing the arguments, the court directed FIA to probe into the matter and present report within one month.
