KARACHI, Pakistan: The four-day 10th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS 2018) kicked off at the Karachi Expo Centre (KEC) on Tuesday, Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.

President Dr. Arif Alvi inaugurated the IDEAS 2018 Defence Exhibition which will continue till November 30 with an objective to bring together all the defence industry’s players across the globe to showcase the latest technological innovations.Karachi braces for Defence Industry Show IDEAS 2018

As many as 522 exhibitors from 50 Countries will showcase their high-quality arms at the 10th IDEAS 2018.

Besides trade visitors, more than 262 high-level delegations from around Countries including China, Russia, United States, France, Germany, Turkey, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Poland, South Korea and host Pakistan have established their exclusive Country pavilions at the Karachi Expo Centre to display their productions.

The high ranking delegations and services chiefs from friendly Countries will also attend the exhibition.

The International Defence Seminar 2018 will also be organized today at KEC as part of the defence exhibition with the theme “Emerging Geo-Political Environment and the Threat of Grey Hybrid Conflict: Pakistan’s Perspective”.

The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mahmood Hayat will be the Chief Guest at the Conference and will deliver the keynote address.

Meanwhile, alternative traffic plan has been chalked out by the Karachi Traffic Police to facilitate the citizens.

As per the traffic plan for the 10th IDEAS 2018, University Road will be open for traffic throughout the four-day exhibition. However, traffic from Hassan Square to the National Stadium will be closed from 7:00 am today (November 27).

The roads from Dalmia to Karsaz and New Town will remain open but the Hassan Square Flyover will be closed. Traffic coming from Liaquatabad will be diverted towards University Road.
