ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have issued 4,264,136 tickets and imposed a fine of Rs 1,271,744,400 during the last five years to ensure the road safety rules, the Senate was told.
To a question by Senator Fawzia Arshad, the Minister for Interior told the Senate that the ICT Police is enforcing traffic laws/regulations as envisaged in Section 116-A of Motor Vehicles Ordinance (MVO), 1965 without any discrimination and irrespective of any special occasion.
Moreover, the ICT Police deployed extra strength during said special days for traffic regulation, diversion and enforcement.
During the last five years, the ICT Police issued traffic violation tickets as per following details: –
