NationalGwadar Jeep Rally 2021 held

GWADAR, Pakistan: The Gwadar Jeep Rally 2021 was conducted from October 14-17, 2021 at the emerging economic center of Gwadar.

The event, which started with an exceptional Opening Ceremony on Marine Drive Gwadar, entered the Qualifying Rounds on October 15.

October 16 and 17 were reserved for the main events of Stock and Modified Categories of Jeeps.

More than 75 Jeeps of various categories coming from all over Pakistan participated in the event, including 16 international participants from Iran and 6 female drivers as well.

The 125-km long track was prepared for the rally along the Gwadar and Jiwani coastline and the Makran Coastal Highway.

The drivers who participated in the race appreciated the track conditions and termed it thrilling and challenging.

As in any other tough competition, few racers could not complete the race because of technical faults, yet expressed that they were glad to have participated.

“It’s not about winning or losing, rather it’s the spirit which matters. We came for the thrill and to enjoy the beauty of Gwadar and we have achieved our goal,” they said.

The guests were particularly thankful for the all-out assistance rendered to them by the army and civil administration for the event.

The guest drivers went around various scenic points of Gwadar, Jiwani and Pasni to enjoy the beauty.

They said that the coastline adjoining the attractive and unique landscape of Gwadar is nowhere to be found. Participants of the race also enjoyed a dinner hosted in their honour at sea side.

Meanwhile, locals of the area, particularly the business community is happy over the multi fold increase in businesses because of the conduct of the event and economic activity. They said that such like activities for the people of Gwadar, is a good omen for them.

They expressed that several other such activities planned in future will add to the beauty and economy of Gwadar.

The guests were also very appreciative of the welcoming nature of the people of Gwadar and the developments which have taken place recently.

“Gwadar is an excellent tourist destination for local and foreign tourists, who should not miss the opportunity to enjoy its serene beauty,” they said.

The most fascinating part of the Rally was the colorful Closing Ceremony which included prizes for the winners and several other cultural shows and songs.

Asif Fazal was awarded the overall best prize amongst the drivers who completed the race in 01:24:01 (one hour, 24 minutes and 1 second).

A very large crowd of spectators from Gwadar and remote areas of Balochistan had come to witness the event which ended late night.

The Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan and the GOC 44 Special Security Division Major General Inayat Hussain apart from other dignitaries graced the Closing Ceremony.
