PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Monday said that implementation of FATA reforms will lead to initiating a new era of development and progress in the area which is expected to cost almost Rs 90 billion in the near future.

The governor made these remarks while talking to a delegation of journalists, hailing from South Waziristan who called on him at Governor’s House in Peshawar.

The delegation was led by Adam Khan, Chairman of Wana Union of Journalists and also included, Nur Ali, Ahmad Noor, Raza Dautani, Mujib-ur-Rehman and others.

The governor while responding to various suggestions said that that journalism is a noble profession and the journalists while highlighting the difficulties being faced by the people, in fact extending a helping hand to the government to resolve the grievances promptly.

Indeed, he added, the role of journalists not only in reforming the society but also guiding the people on the path to their wellbeing and prosperity is well noted.

Meanwhile, the members of the delegation thanked the governor for his keen interest in implementing the reforms process and ensuring accelerated pace of development in Federally Administration Tribal Areas (FATA) as well as providing them the opportunity of meeting him.
