ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday congratulated participants, spectators and nation on successful military parade held earlier in the morning at Shakarparian Parade ground in Islamabad to mark 77th Pakistan Day.

In a statement, the COAS appreciated the security arrangements for the joint parade of all three forces of Pakistan military, the Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor said in a series of tweets.

The COAS thanked China, Turkey, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Chief of South African National Defence Force General Solly Zacharia for participation in the parade.

“Pakistan is significant in comity of nations. We r peaceful country,” the COAS said.

While acknowledging sacrifices of Ghazis and Shaheeds, the Amy Chief said that you are our heroes, your sacrifices shall not go waste.

“We owe our peace and independence to you,” General Qamar Javed Bajwa said.

The COAS also reiterated the resolve to eliminate terrorism from the County.

“Nation to stay steadfast for cleaning ‘Our Pakistan’ from fasaadis,” the COAS said. “Enemies of Pakistan to lay off”.
