ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman Board of Investment Dr. Miftah Ismail said on Friday that 20,000 MW electricity will be generated after completion of various power generation projects in the country.

Miftah Ismail said that Karachi plant and Sahiwal coal will be completed in 2017 while coal project in Thar will get completed in 2018.

The Chairman Board of Investment said that three wind power projects are also being established in Sindh and two more coal mining plants are being placed in Thar.

“All these projects will help to overcome energy crisis”, he said while talking to Radio Pakistan.

Dr. Miftah Ismail further said that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is also a mega project and it would not only benefit Balochistan but also prove beneficial for the country’s other provinces. He said It would also be beneficial for other countries in the region as government is making efforts for its timely completion too.

“CPEC have long lasting impacts on Pakistan as the youth needs jobs and this project will usher a new era of employment opportunities,” he said.
