RAWALPINID, Pakistan: Afghanistan’s ambassador to Pakistan Omar Zakhilwal held a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday.
The meeting was held at the army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi, said a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (IPSR).
During the meeting, issues of mutual interest including security situation and border management were discussed.
The COAS expressed his grief over loss of innocent lives in recent terrorists attacks in Afghanistan.
Earlier in the day, the Foreign Office also strongly condemned the suicide attack which struck a Shia Mosque in the Afghan City of Herat on Tuesday, causing deaths of nearly 30 people.
While separately the COAS in his address at the opening session of special two days long Baloch Regiment Conference at Baloch Regimental Center Abbottabad emphasized that Pakistan Army would continue its efforts to eliminate the menace of terrorism and to ensure that the borders remained secure.
