GILGIT, Pakistan: The Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman said has said that his government has taken solid measures for economic empowerment and solution of women problems in rural areas of the province.
In his message on the occasion of International Rural Women Day, the Chief Minister said that with assistance of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), social welfare department and other relief organization, the government has made concrete efforts to address all the problems of women in rural areas at their doorsteps besides improving their socio-economic conditions.
“Our government’s policy is to minimize the difficulties and problems of women of rural areas,” he said.
The Chief Minister said that Islam teaches about immense respect for women and has given rights to women folk. He said that the aim of the day is to highlight the role and acknowledge services of the women of the rural areas and create awareness among masses about their rights.
“The women of rural areas are hardworking and their role in economy of rural areas was praised worthy,” the Chief Minister said.
Hafeezur Rehman urged private sector and all sources related to mass communication to play effective role in creating awareness among masses about role of rural women in development of the Country.
