ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Islamabad district administration is all-set to name the chowk on Service Road East Sector G-9 as Usama Satti Shaheed Chowk, as the relatives of the slain youth have been protesting for the last few days for the acceptance of their demand.

In this regard, the District Magistrate Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) wrote to the Director (Admn) Chief Commissioner Office, ICT, Islamabad to approach the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to name the chowk on Service Road East, Sector G-9, Islamabad as Usama Satti Shaheed Chowk.

The letter, a copy of which is available with this scribe, reads, “On January 2, 2021 at 01: am, Usama Satti was killed during a car chase near G-10 Srinagar Highway- vehicle No. ADS-304, (White Suzuki Car), by the ATS after hot pursuit, for which FIR No. 04/2021 date 02-01-2021 has been lodged.”

“Now family of Usama Satti is protesting at Express Chowk, Jinnah Avenue, Islamabad and is demanding to name the chowk on Service Road East Sector G-9, Islamabad as Usama Satti Shaheed Chowk,” it adds.

The letter reads, “It is, therefore, requested that the CDA authorities may kindly be approached to considered that the chowk on Service Road East, Sector G-9, Islamabad as Usama Satti Shaheed Chowk please.”
