ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Railways is celebrating 70 years of Independence of Pakistan by running Azadi Special Train for period of 15 days as a representation of national unity.
Azadi Train will start country wide journey from Margalla Station, Islamabad on August 12 and will be inaugurated by the Federal Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique.
The train will showcase ethnic festivities by night staying at major stations. Azadi Train will encompass of five galleries and six floats.
The five galleries comprise of themes like Independence Movement, sacrifices rendered by armed forces of Pakistan for safety and security of nation, Human Rights Violations in Indian Held Kashmir, development projects of Pakistan and China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and history and future plans of Pakistan Railways.
The six floats will comprise of one float each related to Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir depicting the regional diversity and different cultural shades of each region.
