LAHORE, Pakistan: Two persons were killed while 10 further suffered injuries in various incidents of roof collapse following heavy rain in Punjab’s Chiniot City on Thursday.
The Met Office has forecast further heavy rains with thunderstorms in various areas of the Country including in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has ordered for early drainage of rainwater in low lying areas.
In his directives, the Chief Minister asked Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Officials and the Management to utilize all resources for drainage of rainwater.
Usman Buzdar asked the WASA and Administrative Officers to ensure their presence in the field.
The Chief Minister directed to ensure the implementation of rainwater’s drainage plan.
Sardar Usman Buzdar said that no negligence will be tolerated in the drainage work. He also ordered to accomplish the drainage work as earliest as possible.
Furthermore, the Punjab Chief Minister also directed to take special measures for the smooth flow of traffic.
