ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry Saturday reviewed progress of different ongoing development projects in the Federal Capital.

On this occasion, senior officers of the authority, Project Directors of different projects, officers of concerned formations also accompanied him.

While inspecting dualization of road being constructed from Sector E-11 to D-12, Minister of State for CADD Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the road would not only facilitate the residents of Sector E-11 and D-12 but would also connect other new residential sectors in future, therefore, this road should be constructed to cater future demands.

He said due to heavy flow of traffic, the design of the road should further be improved so that the traffic from Margalla Road to E-11 could enter without any interruption.

He also directed for up-gradation and improvement work of service road along the main road.

On this occasion, Tariq Fazal was apprised that the road would be completed by January 2017 at the cost of Rs170.00 million.

However, he directed the concerned formation of the authority to complete this project by September 2016 as the project is of immense importance, which would help ease traffic flow in the area.

He further directed to submit workable and effective suggestions within a week time so that the road could be constructed as per future traffic needs.

Later on, Minister also visited Sector D-12 along with CDA officers.

He was informed that all development project related to Sector D-12 would be completed by June 30, 2016.

Tariq Fazal urged that the matters pertaining to acquisition of land should be resolved with mutual understanding and in peaceful manner.

He was informed that land for Service Road East has been acquired, while work on provision of services including water supply, sewerage system, road network and drainage system is being carried out at fast pace.

He was also informed that carpeting work on major roads in Sector D-12 is being carried out by Machinery Pool Organization of the Authority, whereas construction of roads inside Sector D-12 is being done by the contractor.

Minister was informed that carpeting of roads in Sector D-12 was carried out several years ago but due to rapid construction of housing units in the sector, CDA would carry out final re-carpeting of the roads after completion of construction activities.

He directed the concerned formations to complete development work at the earliest.

He said that work on carpeting of the major roads, lane marking and fixation of cat eyes in these sectors be started immediately.

He further directed to ensure installation of street lights and provision of allied facilities in this sector.

Minister also visited the stalled project of Margalla Highway.

On this occasion, Project Director briefed the State Minister for CADD about the issues pertaining to the project. State Minister for CADD was informed that issues pertaining to the project including, graveyard which falls in the alignment of Margalla Highway, need to be resolved for reinstatement of development work on the project.
